Donlouco Ireland Ltd is owned and run by Donal Murphy and Louise Zhou, a husband-and-wife team, both engineers, and the origins of the company date back to 2001. At that time, Donal worked as a manufacturing engineering manager for an American multinational with manufacturing sites across Europe, the US and Ireland. In late 2001, Donal was posted to Shanghai to develop a local team and build a new 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The Shanghai site became the flagship manufacturing location where projects were transferred from other parts of the world.
During this time, huge experience was gained in understanding business culture in China, how people interacted, how supply chains worked and what was needed to get things done effectively. Deeper lessons were also learnt about doing business in China, from corruption and embezzlement to theft - valuable experience that continues to help make Donlouco a trusted and reliable partner for its customers.
